Juggalo Face Paint and Horror Rap: The Bigger Picture

?

The Kiss face paint is famous, but not as widely appreciated by fans as the horror rap face paint of Insane Clown Posse is.

?

The fact of the matter is, Juggalo face paint is more popular amongst horror rap enthusiasts than Kiss face paint ever was among 80s rock enthusiasts. Can you remember Kiss face paint being worn by Kiss fans to Kiss festivals? I don?t think so.

?

But Juggalo face paint is not only to pay tribute to Insane Clown Posse. As any horror rap fan will tell you, this kind of face paint is in honor of more horror rap artists than just the most famous. Pictures of Twiztid, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, Anybody Killa, Boondox and many more all show the horror rappers donning Juggalo face paint.

?

Most outsiders incorrectly assume that eerie, black and white Insane Clown face paint must be demonstrating appreciation to the Godfathers of horror rap, Insane Clown Posse, but that is simply not true.

It?s been covered again and again that horror rap and Juggalo face paint are just small components of the larger Psychopathic Records family movement, which would explain why such intense devotion is standard amongst followers.

?

So now it should be clear why Juggalos face paint. But how did this all get started in the first place Why do horror rap artists paint their faces? Why do big name artists like Twiztid make sure that no pictures of Twiztid with no face paint surface online?

?

There are many legitimate theories in regards to this topic. Some say that Juggalo face paint also graces the faces of horror rap performers because they are just as into the movement as their followers. Others claim that these horror rappers paint their faces just to conceal their identities. And yet others say it?s all part of a larger marketing campaign. Let?s apply all three theories to horror rap superstars Twiztid, and their marketing materials like pictures of Twiztid.

?

Pictures of Twiztid will appear to be very similar to pictures of ICP face paint. Pictures of Twiztid always show the duo wearing the same face paint designs, pictures of Twiztid will never show them without the makeup on, and pictures of Twiztid do indeed strike home the band?s marketing message and images. When applying the theories to pictures of Twiztid, it becomes apparent that all three exist because all three are viable.

?

Horror rap artists are undoubtedly committed to the horror rap art form, and were the first to invent Juggalo face paint way back in the early 90s. So, it should be clear that Juggalo face paint present on the faces of these performers proves they?re devoted.

?

Secondly, it is indeed a benefit that Juggalo face paint hides the artists? true faces. These artists are immensely popular, and anything they can do to avoid unwanted attention in public is a plus. Finally, marketing materials like pictures of Twiztid help to further brand the artist, and sell other marketing materials like t-shirts that contain pictures of Twiztid.

?

There is no one right answer as to why horror rap artists are always wearing Juggalo face paint, but at least now you have an idea!?
